2 cups half-and-half cream
1/2 cup milk
1 vanilla stick
1/3 cup sugar
3 eggs (whole)
3 eggs
3 egg yolks
1/3 cup brown sugar

Creme Brulee.

Direction:

Pour half-and-half, milk and sugar in a saucepan. Scrap the seeds of the vanilla stick and add the seeds to the mixture. Heat the mixture 3-5 minutes just until bubbly. Remove from heat; set aside.

Meanwhile, in a medium bowl whip the eggs, and pour carefully in the warm mixture. Slowly whisk together just until combined. Pour the custard mixture into 8 small custard cups. Place baking dish on oven rack. Pour enough boiling water into the baking dish to reach halfway up the sides of the custard cups.

Bake in a 325°F oven for  30-40 min. or until a knife inserted near the center of each custard comes out clean. Sprinkle brown sugar over the pudding and place the pan under the grill and let grill until golden (approx. 1 min.).

Remove dishes from water; cool on a wire rack. Serve at room temperature or cold, perhaps with a some berries or other fruit on the side, but not really necessary.
