400 g (14 ounces) smoked mutton
200 g (7 ounces) slab bacon
200 g (7 ounces) smoked pork sausage links
6 large potatoes
1 ½ liters (quarts) water
5 dl (2 cups) buttermilk
2-3 tablespoons barley flour
flatbread

Direction:

Cut the meat, bacon, sausages and potatoes into 1 cm (1/2”) cubes.
Bring the water to a boil and add mutton and bacon. Simmer until almost tender, about 45 mintues. Skim well. Add the sausage and potato and simmer until the potato is tender, about 10 minutes.
Whisk together buttermilk and flour and whisk into the soup.
Crumble flatbread into soup bowls. Pour over soup.
Serve with a lump of butter, syrup and gamalost.
