2 lbs. beef brisket
2 onions
3 1/2 ounces butter or margerine
1/2 cup tomato ketchup
2 tbsp. white wine
3 tbsp. sugar
1 tbsp. mustard
1 pinch of cayenne pepper
3 slices of lemon
2-3 tbsp. Worcestershire sauce
1 1/2 cups water

Peel the onions, cut into slices and let simmer until golden brown in half of the butter in a thick bottom pan. Add water, vinegar, sugar, mustard, salt, cayenne pepper and lemon slices. Let mixture sizzle some few minutes.

In the meantime, slice the beef brisket into individual serving slices and brown in remaining butter. Afterwards, add the meat in the other pan with onion mixture. Add catsup and Worcestershie sauce. Allow to simmer approximately 90 minutes until the meat is tender.

Serve with spaghetti or bread.
